Cubbon Park is not what it was anymore.
The Horticulture Department is playing party pooper and put one restriction after the other to dampen visitors’ spirits. This weekend, many youngsters and families, who had planned a picnic in the park, had to junk the plan after they found there was a ban on bringing eatables into the park.
“We arrived at Cubbon Park at 9.30 am on Sunday to hold the Christmas Potluck which we had been planning for two weeks. We chose a park intentionally as it is open air and there is enough space to maintain physical distancing. On reaching there, a security guard scanned our bags and told us food items are not allowed inside the park,” said Barkha Kumari, a visitor.
