fox 10 news at 9:00 starts now. good evening, everybody. thanks for joining us tonight. first on fox, a bizarre burglary at a historic saloon in yavapai county. yeah. a man is caught on camera inside that business vandalizing the place before stealing several items. this happened at the saloon up in crown king. it s a tiny community about two hours north of downtown phoenix. it sits in a remote area just west of the i-17. the suspected burglar spent a lot of time inside that saloon, and that s what he was doing during that time that may have you scratching your head. andrew hasbun has been looking into this. he joins us live with the story tonight reporter: and john, bizarre is the perfect word to tried de the surveillance video shows the suspect pouring himself a soda. one camera even captures his expression right as he discovers the whole thing is being captured on video. to have somebody come in and at will just randomly do that kind of destruction is very ....

kind of destruction is very frustrating. reporter: this is a view from the outside at around 3:00 this morning. the camera capturing the moment the suspect kicks in the door to the saloon. the owner say he spent about two and a half hours inside the building. at one point, he even put a beer bucket on his head. eventually he discovered with where they kept some of the money and took it. he also kicked in the doors to some of the rooms upstairs. and those doors are at least it s a historic building. so to try to replace that hardware and maintain the look and character of the building is going to be difficult. according to the yavapai county sheriff s office the suspect is 34-year-old sean sparling of phoenix. he s also accused of going into two cabins at a neighboring business and demanding phones from the people the victims. the owners of the saloon have been worried recently. i was warned about the bartender that they were concerned about his behavior, so we w ....

then have it burn down. reporter: gilbert fire said they re not ready to say if arson is the cause. we re investigating all leads at this time. reporter: atf is helping investigate that possibility. it s very much an active investigation. they ll start first thing in the morning. reporter: they think he s between 16-21 years he s not a suspect, they just want to talk to him. it s just kind of sad. they re trying to bring other people downment it could have hurt someone but luckily it didn t. reporter: gilbert fire says if you have any information on the fire give them a call. lauren reimer, cbs 5 news. thank you lauren many we want to get you to breaking news out of southern this new brushfire burning in the potreroer ranch area, about 35 miles northeast of los angeles. la fire just got crews on the scene in the area and they ve been doing water drops. this area has mountains and allotted of homes and we ll keep you updated. mr. trump, we ve got some v ....
