oz in pennsylvania, who have been falling behind because they haven t been able to keep up with the energy of the party. as issues have moved away from republicans and have focused more on democratic agenda, those senate candidates have struggled and the criticism of senator scott has ramped up, too. of course, with these candidates, what they have in common, they re all political novices. they got these trump endorsements, which helped them in their primaries. but the question then between mcconnell and rick scott, it s not translating to votes. this is the fundamental question in the republican party, how much do you rely on turning out your base, and how much do you need to appeal to the crossover vote sners donald trump s strategy from 2016 and 2020, turn out the base, energize the base, get the base to come along. it worked for donald trump in 2016. not in 2020, obviously. but this is the strategy that
is heading to a loss and perhaps a big loss tonight . she was hoping thathe there woud be this crossover vote with democrats. there was an appeal in recent days to get that democratic vote crossover. there has been a registration shift since january to august.ug and you can see democrats downns 9000, republicans up 19 , 20 suggesting some shift over to vote in this primary. however, there s nowhere near the numbers needed to make thiss all come together. we also mentioned the other race we re following in alaskare . this is lisa murkowski, the senator trying to hold on in primary. d however, it s different here. it s ranked choiceits in alaskaf so people will vote for the tope four candidates and even trumped backed candidate, she bufka,li is while she could do well, she s likely going to be one of several that move on ,r including senator murkowski. the other race is obviously former governor murkowski.

because i understand that the university of wyoming survey that was put out there, they said that 98% of people who self-identify as democrats, who say they re going to vote, are going to vote for her. now, what s the balance between registered democrats and registered republicans in wyoming? i imagine it s very outweighing towards republican? it s enormous. there are more than 200,000 registered republicans now in wyoming and there are only 85,000, of all the other affiliations put together, and that includes the unaffiliated or the independent votes, which is a voter preference that can be registered for. among those, harriet hageman is among those who criticized the crossover vote as being decisive. this year, it s largely being dismissed. and there was some analysis after the governor s primary four years ago that determined that it probably was not
