Petersburg City Public Schools holds event to celebrate The Wave bus

PETERSBURG Petersburg City Public School students, staff and community members alike gathered at the school system s administrative building to celebrate the unveiling of The Wave, the new family engagement bus. 
The idea of the bus started with Pam Bell, chief advancement officer for PCPS, as she wanted to create a way to bring resources to students and their families. Now finished, Bell s dream can now become reality.
Today, it s really about the true introduction, said Bell. 
The bus is now equipped with a mini library, wireless internet, workstations, laptops, printers, and extra seating. PCPS sought help from Truck Enterprises, a full service trucking company, to add the finishing touches to the bus.  ....

WPU Falls to Bellevue, Defeats Calumet-St. Joseph
Kissimmee, Fla.–The Statesmen softball team had another 1-1 day as it continued its spring break trip Monday.
William Penn (3-3) fell to Bellevue (Neb.) 5-1, but shook it off to take down Calumet-St. Joseph (Ind.) 2-1.
Although they tied the Bruins 6-6 in hits, the navy and gold could not answer their foes in the runs department.
BU (10-7), which is receiving votes nationally, got on the board first with one run in the top of the first frame. The Statesmen were able to get back to even in the bottom of the fourth and almost captured the lead. ....

St. Ambrose swept the top spots in Saturday s opening event, winning both the women s and men s titles.
In the women s division, the Fighting Bees posted a wire-to-wire victory on the 42-foot oil pattern, firing 1,033 to start the five-game traditional block and adding 1,061 in Game 3 to pull away from the rest of the 16-team varsity field. St. Ambrose captured the win with a final score of 4,968.
Webber International finished second with 4,631, and Huntington was third with 4,567.
Webber International s Taishaye Naranjo averaged more than 221 to earn the top individual spot in the first event, rolling to a 1,108 total. St. Ambrose s Hannah Jaros (1,069) and Addy Nelson (1,055) finished second and third, respectively, while Kentucky Wesleyan s Alyssa Zombirt (1,053) and Huntington s Jessica Fraser (1,005) also earned spots on the all-tournament team. ....
