Speaking to TNM, special public prosecutor Sunkara Rajendra Prasad said, “The court issued directions to initiate necessary proceedings against the investigating officer as he had not done the investigation properly. This stands as the prime reason that the prosecution was unable to establish that the accused committed the crime.”
The victim's father, who had initially sought the repeat autopsy from the Madras high court, moved the Supreme Court to stay that order because his request for a doctor of his choice to be present had been denied.
The Kerala High Court on Thursday granted bail to Catholic priest Thomas M. Kottur and co-convict Sister Steffi in the sensational sister Abhaya murder case
