Demand to reinstate safety measures in Dennistoun Low Traffic Neighbourhood

CYCLE campaigners are calling for the immediate reinstatement of safety measures removed from a new Low Traffic Neighbourhood.
The Glasgow Times told in February how council bosses had opted to take away a number of contraflow cycle lanes in Dennistoun to allow for kerbside parking.
Bike experts claim the move will make roads less safe and discourage people from cycling - the opposite of the scheme s intention.
Cycling advocacy group GoBike has now written to Glasgow City Council and local councillors to share its concerns.
Thomas Cornwallis, co-convenor of GoBike, said there has as yet been no response. ....
