Mumbai: From Sunday, bed allocation for Covid patients only after medical examination

MUMBAI: The
BMC has issued a new protocol for admitting Covid patients to hospitals. There will be a medical check up of all Covid patients before they are allotted beds in hospitals, the BMC said on Friday.
From Sunday onwards, all symptomatic Covid patients will be allotted beds only after medical examination, which will be carried out by civic doctors and officials who will visit the patient’s home.

Amid a sharp rise in the number of COVID-19 cases and deaths in Maharashtra, Mumbai Mayor Kishori Pednekar said a complete lockdown should be imposed in the city.
Stating that those returning from the Kumbh will distribute Corona ka prasad wherever they go, she expressed the need for quarantining them to curb the spread of infections.
Speaking to news agency ANI, Pednekar said, The Chief Minister should call a meeting, discuss and impose a lockdown. I think a complete lockdown should be imposed looking at the current COVID-19 situation. ....

ICU at Home service starts in Mumbai to help COVID-19 patients amid pandemic surge

Mumbai: In order to tackle the rising demands of beds and oxygen amid a surge in COVID-19 cases in Mumbai, ICU at Home service has now been started. Under this new facility, services like nurses, medicine, online consultation, oxygen concentrator, and physiotherapist would be provided at the doorstep of the needy. To avail of this service, one has to pay from Rs 1500 to Rs 15000 per day, according to reports coming in. ....
