Local health care workers receive COVID-19 vaccine

Local health care workers receive COVID-19 vaccine Initially, Missy Robinson was against receiving the COVID-19 vaccine due to the unknown. After quite a bit of research and discussions, though, she became excited about it. Robinson, who has been a registered nurse for 25 years and currently is assistant director of nursing at Covered Bridge Health Campus in Seymour, said she happily took the vaccine for her patients, family, community and profession. As a nurse, I have seen firsthand what this virus has done and so many lives lost, not only due to the virus itself but the associated isolation, she said. If I can be a part of something that saves a life, then I have done my part in battling this pandemic.

Santa s Holiday Tour visiting Seymour neighborhoods next week

Santa’s Holiday Tour visiting Seymour neighborhoods next week 12/10/20 9:39 AM Lights will flash from Seymour police cars and firetrucks as they travel through city neighborhoods next week. Don’t be alarmed. Santa Claus is coming to town. The Seymour Chamber of Commerce had to cancel its Home for the Holidays event scheduled for Nov. 28 and there’s no Santa House this year due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but the organization wanted to ensure kids still had an opportunity to see Jolly Ol’ St. Nick. From 6 to 8 p.m. Monday through Friday next week, Santa’s Holiday Tour will arrive in a different city council district each night. He will be on a Seymour Fire Department truck that’s decorated with special holiday lighting and escorted by a Seymour Police Department vehicle. Listen for the sirens and Christmas music to know he’s getting closer to your home.
