Orange Coast College Swap Meet returns to Costa Mesa this weekend
Vendors of the OCC Swap Meet will return to the Costa Mesa campus this weekend to sell wares after a 15-month pandemic closure.

For a community of vendors and customers who’ve bought, sold and haggled over items new and used at the Orange Coast College Swap Meet for decades, this weekend’s reopening is sure to feel like a bit of a homecoming.
The event returns to the Costa Mesa college campus July 3 and 4, from 8 a.m. to 3 p.m., and organizers anticipate up to 400 vendors will arrive for the grand opening on Saturday, with 600 sellers expected to arrive on Sunday.

John Upton, one of the founders of the well-respected photography department at Orange Coast College who taught there for more than 40 years, died on Dec. 7 in Petaluma. He was 88.
Upton died due to complications from lung cancer, the school announced.
A former San Clemente and Laguna Woods resident, Upton had moved to Petaluma two years ago to be closer to his family, his daughter, Sean, said.
