happy they re here. i was born and raised in brooklyn. this is what i know. this is what i love. reporter: a few days later, glad to see them go. i hate it. i don t want anything to do with it. i was happy we had snow opchristmas, but no. i m done. reporter: doug is far from done with the cold temperatures. inside his shop here, the shelves may be full of winter gear but he s not worried. he s only slashed some prices by 10%. other retailers nervous about slow sales are offering 75% off. but doug believes there s still a lot of winter left that this is just a taste of things to come for the rest of this month, in february, and in march. i feel the magic number is three days of cold in a row. and people finally realize oh, my god, winter is here. i need a jacket. i need a coat. i need a hat. for some that realization where is your coat? reporter: others have given in to mother nature, at least for now. do you worry bringing him out in the weather? no, i don
