Thirteen non-profit organizations were given a total of $17,150 by the Rotary Club of Athens raised from dues and other fundraisers throughout the year.
Due to the Patrons of the Provision Fund, the organization will be giving another disbursement of $10,000 to projects in Sheridan County.
Provision Fund’s first disbursement took place in December, amounting to $10,000. This March, disbursement of another $10,000 will give Sheridan County a total of $20,000 to Early Childhood Education, Elderly and Senior Care Services, and Parks and Recreation.
A panel of Stewards recently voted to grant funds for the following community needs, Joey’s Fly Fishing Foundation was given $2,500 to partially fund annual scholarships for outdoor education. Sheridan County Soccer Association was given $2,500 to help cover operational costs of the 2021 Mars Cup. Wyldflower Learning Community will be given $1,250 to partially fund the purchase of a new van for transport to and from educational services.
