Thats a rise of almost 1,200 in five weeks. Around half of those are cases linked to this summers riots. In a few days time, the governments temporary early Release Scheme will begin, and some offenders will be able to leave jail at an earlier point in their sentences. The announcement was made yesterday by the israeli military, saying that it was pulling out all of its ground forces, except one brigade, which would remain in that part of the strip to enforce a corridor which divides Northern Gaza from the south.
