Decade. How has that changed the military . How has it changed how wars will be fought . It changed it pretty dramatically, the military. I entered in 72 and outlined in my story i had a sort of Forrest Gumplike experience. Much of that culminated after 9 11. Many changes has begun before but after 9 11 we got it in perspective. And then we were forced to change again dramatically because the military we created had some good foundations, we had corrected many of the things that had eroded in vietnam, but we werent right for a new Information Age war. Also, we found that the pace in which things happen, the use of information, the availability, and the importance of understanding becoming key. You have to not only have that understanding theoretically, you have to remake your processes and remake yourself as a leader to make that work. I found i led completely differently in terms of those areas after about 2005 than i did even five years earlier. Let me ask you about afghanistan as th

not have been involved in the coverup of a soldier s death. and i think it s a slap in the face to all soldiers to appoint this man. we failed the family and i was a part of that and i apologize for it. late last night the white house issued a statement defending the appointment. it said that pat tillman s tragic death was mishandled but that general mcchrystal was found to have acted honorably. and now to a tragic twist in the story of that mom who drove her minivan into new york s hudson river killing herself and three of her children. police now say that lashanda armstrong changed her mind at very last minute. her van was found in the river in the reverse position. her 10-year-old son escaped through the window and told police that his mom kept repeating i made a mistake as the van filled with water. there s also evidence that armstrong had unbelted her children and was holding them. ford is expanding its recall of f-150 pickup trucks under government pressure. originally,
