A check of the handgun found that it had been reported stolen in 2018 out of New York, according to state police.

Vazquez, who is a convicted felon, was transported to Troop G for booking on weapons and narcotics charges. He was unable to post bond and was held to await a court appearance. This is part of an ongoing collaborative effort by Detectives in the South West Statewide Narcotics Office, which is comprised of Detectives from the Connecticut State Police, Orange Police, Westport Police, and Bridgeport Police to disrupt illegal opioid distribution in the South West Connecticut region, state police said.

PHOENIX The FBI and Phoenix Police Department are investigating after hackers shouting racial slurs interrupted a virtual memorial Tuesday for Phoenix civil rights icon Calvin Goode.
The Historic Tanner Chapel African Methodist Episcopal Church hosted a livestream on its Facebook page, with family members, city officials and friends speaking through Zoom. Mayor Kate Gallego was speaking when someone began shouting slurs a half-hour into the service.
Gallego confirmed that an investigation was underway and condemned the hate speech.

LOS ANGELES, CA Sacramento County s chief prosecutor has informed Los Angeles County District Attorney George Gascon that her office will no longer grant him jurisdiction over any crimes that involve Sacramento County because of Gascon s special directives that have been criticized by victims advocates as too soft on crime.
Gascon campaigned on criminal-justice reform, but many were taken aback by the lengths he went to when he announced upon taking office that prosecutors would no longer pursue the death penalty, try juveniles as adults, seek cash bail for misdemeanor and non-serious, non-violent felonies, or add gang and other enhancements to criminal complaints.
