Plans for Govanhill nursery approved A CONTRACT worth £12.3m for the construction of three new nurseries in Glasgow is set to be approved by councillors on Thursday. City Building would deliver the project which will see early learning and childcare facilities built at Tollcross, Carntyne and Govanhill. They are being developed to help the council meet the Scottish Government’s commitment to provide 1140 hours of statutory childcare. Glasgow received £44m of government funding for the project, which is to be spent on additional infrastructure. The city council will spend £23.5m on new build facilities and £10.6m on refurbishing existing buildings. It has allocated £3m for extending existing sites and £6.4m for adaptations. ....
