There is just some requirements ive worked around it a little bit. But i do think that child care would be very important. We do have some onisland services already, but were expecting the island to have a lot more families in the future. And we just want to make sure were not repeating some of the same issues that we have, you know, in the mainland of San Francisco where we have child care wait lists, and the wait lists are 2,000 people. Okay, great. And then lets see. Im also curious you cited examples, like mercy and other existing commercial uses on the island. And ive often wondered about whether or not those existing restaurants, which are great, and i go to them, but i wonder what the proportion of local islanders residing on the island are really using those restaurants and retail versus people who are coming from outside of the island . And just be cognizant i think it would be very important for us to make sure we have retail and restaurants that caters to the island resident

As we grew up, we eventually had a small business. I very much grew up in a family of immigrants, where we helped to translate. We went to the restaurant every weekend helping out, rolling egg rolls, eating egg rolls, and doing whatever we need to do to help the family out. It really was an experience growing up that helped me be the person that i am and viewing Public Service the way that i do. One of the events that really stuck with me when i was growing up was actually the rodney king riots. We lived in Southern California at the time, and my parents had a restaurant in inglewood, california. I can remember smelling smoke, seeing ashes where we lived. It was incredibly scary because we didnt know if we were going to lose that restaurant, if it was going to be burned down, if it was going to be damaged, and it was our entire livelihood. And i remember there were a lot of conversations at that time around what it was that government to do to create more opportunities or help people b

We are now transferring people from workers comp to the Health System people will sa. And so, you confuse the doctor, especially if youre out of area, you confuse the tonight. You confuse the pharmacy if you say, im getting my prescriptions filled for my workers comp. Workers cor comp pays for disability thats not permanent. You could be an active employee and be under workers comp or be eligible for a completely different position or body part than youve been awarded a workers comp. So how Health Services administer focuadminister folkss corcomp is something we dont gt involved with in making sure they get connected and theres no break in coverage for them on their medical side, but well, ive been pleaed with d people contacted me and said i have and issue and they have an advocate group for the retirees.
