The recent job numbers have exceeded expectations for the month of may and the u. S. Gained over 2. 5 million jobs. That is the largest gain for a single month in our history. Even with half of the country shut down, President Trumps policies are still working. I want to get your reactions to this great jobs report. Paris, lets start with you. Job numbers coming out today, there were estimates unemployment would be upwards of 20 or more. Number of Staff Meetings is up 2x. Number of management meetings is up 2x. We were set up to work remotely. We do that because were on the road quite a bit, and we have nontraditional hours where were conducting meetings after hours, on weekends and evenings. This was a seamless transition for us. Weve had access to digital presentations, software of every kind, from excel to powerpoint, email. Access to our custodian. Its really been a seamless operation. The only disruption is that we havent been able to do travel to meet with external managers, but the number of manager meetings is still up 2x. And i would say that we benefited from good timing. We actually deployed all of the laptops to the investment teams with docking stations to be able to work here as well as ....
Here we are in this Virtual World and i hope the public is able to access this meeting and future meetings. Well do our very best to make sure that that happens. I also want to say that meetings by our advisory groups will get started up again, hopefully soon, as well as Many Committee meetings by the board. But we do have capacity issues at the moment, but we want to make sure at the same time that the public is engaged and that we have a transparent process for all of our decisionmaking processes.
