Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways Nitin Gadkari on Monday in Rajya Sabha said that Raipur –Visakhapatnam National Highway project is an economic corridor approved under Bharatmala Pariyojana Phase-I.
The Minister was answering to an unstarred question raised by YSR Congress Party MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy whether Raipur-Visakhapatnam road was a flagship project of the ministry and its present status.
He said that the project starts from Abhanpur near Raipur (Chhattisgarh) and ends at Sabbavaram in Visakhapatnam (Andhra Pradesh).
The entire stretch is a greenfield alignment passing through the States of Chhattisgarh (124 km), Odisha (240 km) and Andhra Pradesh (100 km). The stretch has been notified as National Highway no. 130CD.

All political parties should keep aside their differences and come together to prepare a constructive plan to save the Visakhapatnam Steel Plant (VSP) from being privatised, said former TDP Minister Ganta Srinivasa Rao.
Addressing a press conference here on Tuesday, he said YSR Congress Party MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy undertook a ‘padayatra’ here on the issue. It would be more useful if he organises it in New Delhi and meet the PM, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.
Taking a dig at Jana Sena Party founder Pawan Kalyan, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said meeting leaders in New Delhi will not suffice. Mr. Pawan Kalyan should come to the camp where employees are agitating and sit with them to understand the issue, Mr. Srinivasa Rao said.

‘State govt. will take steps for regularisation of lands’
YSR Congress Party MP V. Vijaya Sai Reddy said that the long-pending Simhachalam temple lands issue would soon be solved by the State government.
