Even as the opposition alliance in Assam, the United Opposition Forum (UOF), is all set to chalk out its strategy on Wednesday to renew anti-CAA agitation, the forum’s major ally, Congress, is likely to get a body blow as Assam Congress working president Rana Goswami may resign from the party.
The women’s reservation Bill, the first legislation to be cleared by both Houses in the new Parliament building, secured 214 votes in its favour with none against it in the Upper House. There was no abstention during the voting proceedings presided by Chairman Jagdeep Dhankhar.
