Might vote for mccarthy again. it s a bit of an open door but it s still a tall hill to climb, not just for mccarthy but for a compromise figure who we still have not identified. we still don t know who that person could be and honestly, i really don t know if it is truly a jim jordan. it might have to be someone else. what is interesting is 30 minutes ago, i was texting with house republican who said kevin mccarthy wants us to stay. he wanted them to keep voting. as of this morning, they said one vote or 100 we ll keep voting for kevin mccarthy. we saw how the momentum was changing. biron donalds did switch. you re seeing a momentum shift whether it s enough remains to be seen. expect there to be a big push in the next few hours. the allies of former president trump are angry with the republican hard liners and saying this is embarrassing and chaotic and what it looks like when republicans are in charge. that push is likely to continue. ....
Cuts, not social issues like women s health and the protection of our air and water. these are important issues that deserve discussion, just not during a debate about our budget. reporter: interesting a spokesman for the tea party told cnn that he was not very impressed by this compromise figure of $38.5 billion in spending cuts, that while both parties are touting this as the largest spending cut in american history, the fact of the matter is, it s, in the words of the tea party, trivial, compared to the larger federal budget. in fact that cut represents far less than 1% of the entire federal budget. it gives you an idea of just how much work yet needs to be done, because there are some big, big ticket items involving trillions, not billions of dollars but trillions, like medicare, medicaid, some of the big drivers of the u.s. federal debt right now, still have to be dealt with down the road as lawmakers work soon on the 2012 budget and try and figure all of this out, so maybe ther ....
