St. Clair Shores St. Germaine School to close despite exceeding fundraising goals

As Catholics around the world begin to celebrate Holy Week and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, parents and students at St. Germaine Catholic School in St. Clair Shores were informed that despite exceeding fundraising and enrollment goals set by the Archdiocese of Detroit, the school will close permanently at the end of this school year.

St. Germaine gets reprieve from Archdiocese of Detroit

St. Germaine Catholic School has until March 1 to raise $150,000 to keep the school, which was to close at the end of this school year, open.

Effort underway to save St. Germaine Catholic School

According to an email sent by principal Colleen Maciejewski to St. Germaine Catholic School parents, a proposal has been made to save the school which is slated to close by the end of this academic year.  The proposal was written by Michael Kaddis, a parent at St. Germaine.

CLAIR SHORES Signing up for the military is an act of service, but it comes with an immediate sacrifice having to leave home while having little contact with friends and family for a period of time during training and beyond. But a short time after Pvt. Courtney Colley left for Army National Guard basic training at Fort Leonard Wood in Missouri, a little piece of home was delivered in the form of letters and cards from a class of third graders at St. Germaine Catholic School, which she attended as a child.
