On April 22, the archdiocese gave the school a deadline of May 1 to raise the $120,000 and increase enrollment to 110 students for the upcoming school year or risk closing.
As Catholics around the world begin to celebrate Holy Week and the resurrection of Jesus Christ, parents and students at St. Germaine Catholic School in St. Clair Shores were informed that despite exceeding fundraising and enrollment goals set by the Archdiocese of Detroit, the school will close permanently at the end of this school year.
