St. Lawrence County Carp Marathon kicks off July 19

OGDENSBURG The St. Lawrence Carp Marathon starts Monday, July 19 at 6 a.m. and continues for 130 hours afterwards.
Twenty-six teams of some of the top carp anglers from across the country and internationally are expected to compete for the $15,000 first prize and other cash prizes.
Teams will be sited along the St. Lawrence River from Ogdensburg and Waddington for one of the longest carp events ever held, say organizers.

Five hybrid winter oilseed rape varieties from three plant breeding companies were added to the AHDB’s Recommended List 2021/22, joining a strong existing line-up of high-performing varieties.
Two of the newcomers were given a UK recommendation, with the other three approved for the East/West region only.
Just having hybrids as the new additions is unusual, says Colin Peters, break crop specialist at crop consultant Niab, who adds that the conventional types didn’t perform as well as expected last year, albeit from a limited number of trials. ....
