New Hospital Expansion Begins in Coleman


A new patient wing and emergency room are among the highlights of a new hospital expansion construction project which began Monday morning, January 18, in Coleman.
Following a pre-construction meeting with the USDA on Thursday, January 14, Lott Brothers Construction Company, Austin, Texas, was given official notice to proceed with the construction of the new addition to Coleman County Medical Center (CCMC).
Others in attendance at the pre-construction meeting included representatives of the CCMC District, Rees Associates, Jacob & Martin Engineering and CCMC administration.  Together the project team members discussed the coordination and communication necessary to move the project forward on a timely basis. ....

Vivian Pauline McDonald of Coleman, left this earth to be with her heavenly father on January 1, 2021 at the age of 84 years and 4 months.  She passed at Holiday Hill Nursing Home.  Graveside service will be 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, January 5, 2021 at the Coleman City Cemetery Pavilion with Bro. Don Harmes, pastor of Community Baptist Church, officiating.  Burial will be in the Coleman City Cemetery.  The service will be live-streamed at www.livingmemorials.com/obituary/VivianPauline-McDonald.  Services are entrusted to Stevens Funeral Home, Coleman.
She was born Vivian Pauline McDonald on August 30, 1936 in Trent to William McDonald, Jr. and Estella May Blankenship McDonald.  At an early age, her family moved to Coleman, where she graduated from Coleman High School and also attended college.  She worked at the furniture store when she got out of school.  She followed in her daddy’s footsteps and worked at the ASCS government office in Coleman for over 30 years, until her ....
