Lawyer filed to dismiss that lawsuit, after the settlement was reached on friday. Back in 2012, police say they saw ambrose pointing a gun at a crowd of people outside the new world lounge. A 2013 grand jury decided not to charge the officer in the case. As part of the settlement with the family, the city and officers admitted no wrongdoing. Cedar Rapids Police had a busy friday night investigating three separate shootings. Police say the first shooting started around 7 30 on the 15hundred block of 5th avenue southeast. Officials say at least one person got hurt and is expected to survive. The third shooting police say happened around 1 45 saturday morning on the 900 block of maplewood drive northeast.
