following this morning s officer-involved shooting. it was going to be a 24-hour vigil they said they would stay here indefinitely until chief suhr resigned. we haven t seen those individuals arrive here. however, i did just get off the phone with christina. she is one of the older members of the frisco five. she was often referred to as mother during the 17-day hunger strike. she told me that she is extremely happy to hear this news. she s on her way here now and again very happy, she says, to hear that chief suhr has resigned and hoping that this will be a peaceful city that everyone can enjoy living in. her words. live in san francisco, melanie woodrow, abc 7 news. now let s go to abc 7 news reporter vic lee with a little more information on who will lead the police department for the time being. vic live in the bay view where the shooting took place earlier today. vic, lieutenant tony chaplain is the name we ll be hearing a lot of. reporter: well, this has certainly
good friday morning. we have breaking news. egyptian military officials located debris from the plane. the paris to cairo flight vanished shortly after entering egyptian air space. the plane jerked to the left and made a circle to the right before going into the mediterranean sea. officials are hoping to get answers. abc is live in london for us. what do we know so far about this debris? good morning to you. we re just getting this information coming in from the egyptian armed forces in the form of app statement saying that search and rescue teams have found this morning belongings of the passengers as well as some parts of the wreckage of the plane north of alexandria, off the alexandria coast. search and rescue operations continue in that area. we understand that military spokesmen also said that other countries are involved in this coordinated search and those include greece, france, the united kingdom, cypress and italy. this is a major rescue operation taking place

trees around the area. i was afraid those would catch on fire. we also have a vacant field across from the shop which i was afraid the flames would jump over there. as you can tell there is really gusty winds out there and i have heard from numerous people on the scene that it caused a lot of problems in making the fire spread so quickly from a park into the neighborhood. police told me that the fire started on a trail and they believe, they re blaming right now at least, a homeless emcampment for starting a fire that whipped by the end moved into this neighborhood and took over this backyard severely danieling they re investigating the cause right now and still working here. many, many fire crews on the scene trying to gradually get things back to normal and get the neighbors back into their homes. i m leslie brinkley. abc 7 news. thanks. check out this video from the east bay hills camera about a half hour ago. look at the dark clouds moving into the bay area. a thu
