Many people, old and young have hearing issues. I’m reliably told that those with hearing impairments ‘can hear’ when offered a raise by the boss. And young women who are hoping against hope ‘can hear’ when their beloved opens the engagement ring box while on bended knee.
Another of my Dad jokes is that I have at times trouble talking (due to a longstanding stutter) and my wife, Delma, has trouble hearing (due to a congenital problem), hence 44 years of marriage bliss, I can t talk and Delma can t hear!! ....
