Laguna Beach Local News People have lost everything. Their businesses, their sense of community, but most of all: their loved ones. One would think, given the circumstances, that the City Council would be laser-focused on one agenda item: helping our residents emerge on the other side of this dark time. This is not the case with Councilmember George Weiss. As his first agenda item, he is bringing a politically-charged censure against Councilmember Peter Blake, which is no surprise, given his previous attack on artist Jorg Dubin in attempts to remove him from the Planning Commission. A true renaissance man, Scott was a two-time city councilor, a sports director, a liquor delivery driver, and a stock car race announcer, among several other professions, hobbies, and volunteer work. Originally from Vancouver, ‘Moose’ moved north at the age of 23 to work at Woodward’s in Prince George, and after that, a liquor delivery driver. ....

Generous, friendly and caring in everything he did, whether it was family, his workmates or his business contacts, the Moose had a personality as big as his nickname and for that he will forever be remembered. That heart of his took one last beat on Friday when he died of cancer at age 75. For 52 of his years, Prince George was his home and in that time, whether it was sports, entertainment or politics, Moose found a way to get himself involved and become part of the talk of the town. ....
As the founding commissioner of the Prince George Senior Lacrosse Association, he revived Canada’s national summer sport and gave the best players in the city a place to showcase their talents, earning the Moose a place in the Prince George Sports Hall of Fame. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather and great-grandfather, a former radio personality and a member of the Citizen family for his work selling advertising for Prince George This Week, the Prince George Buy and Sell and special publications in the daily Citizen. A few weeks ago, Glen and his wife Patricia were featured in the Citizen in a column written by Kathy Nadalin which is reposted below. Watch for more on our website later this weekend about the man we called Moose. ....
