Parts of Cardigan are grotty - claims resident A Cardigan resident has slammed the town s grotty appearance on the walk from Quay Street car park up towards Ebens Lane. CARDIGAN is being let down by the ‘grotty’ appearance of some its areas. That is the blunt opinion of one town resident who has written to Cardigan Town Council urging them to ensure the town ups its game. Liz Hardy, who said she had been living in Cardigan for the past 18 months, maintained numerous parts of town were in dire need of some TLC. “Cardigan is trying to become a vibrant town, but if you park in the Riverside car park and go up the pedestrian way it just looks grotty,” she said. ....

A CARDIGAN town councillor has welcomed exploratory talks to create a sensory garden in the grounds of Cardigan Hospital as part of the site’s re-development. Architects commissioned to draw up proposals for the regeneration of the site unveiled their designs at a series of public engagement events last month. And following public drop-in sessions organised by site owners Wales & West Housing attended by more than 150 people last February, the housing provider commissioned Gaunt Francis to draw up plans. ....

A CARDIGAN county councillor says she has been surprised there has not been a serious accident on the stretch of the A478 heading towards Cardigan. The section of highway, which includes the notorious Burton Bends, has been identified as a possible accident blackspot due to excessive vehicle speeds, ongoing roadworks and falling tree branches. Cllr Catrin Miles told colleagues Ceredigion County Council were aware of rising concerns and had considered the introduction of various traffic-calming measures aimed at reducing the speed of passing vehicles. ....
