Mumbai,” he said.
Mucormycosis is also known as black fungus and it is a serious but rare fungal infection.
A day earlier, public health minister Rajesh Tope had said at least 2,000 patients of the deadly fungal infection are currently under treatment in Maharashtra.
Kakani said hospitals have been asked to put multidisciplinary teams in place to treat the infection. ....

The residents of
Sangvi on Saturday caught a contractor of Pimpri-Chinchwad Municipal Corporation (
PCMC) red-handed while excavating soil from the banks of the Pavana. The civic body has said that the person was supposed to use the fertile soil at Moshi garbage depot to create compost from waste. Nonetheless, the locals were unconvinced they cited the threat of floods in lowlying areas of Sangvi and Dapodi. ....
