ANN ARBOR, MI An ordinance awaiting final City Council approval will require new developments in Ann Arbor to look to the future and install electric vehicle charging stations.
The city’s new EV parking ordinance was unanimously approved by council at first reading in December and awaits final adoption following a public hearing Jan. 19.
As part of the city’s A2Zero initiative to achieve communitywide carbon-neutrality by 2030 to reduce pollution and fight climate change, Ann Arbor is calling for adding thousands of EV chargers throughout the city putting the infrastructure in place to allow the community to transition away from gasoline vehicles and the emissions they produce. ....

New drawings offer closer look at 22 townhomes proposed on Ann Arbor’s Main Street

ANN ARBOR, MI – A new townhouse-style condo development with added sustainability features is headed to City Council for approval.
Ann Arbor’s Planning Commission got a closer look at new renderings of the 22-unit Near North development Tuesday night, Jan. 5, before voting unanimously to recommend council approval of the project.
The development site at 700 N. Main St. is across from the Ann Arbor Community Center where a row of eight houses was demolished several years ago.
Auburn Hills-based Trowbridge Companies is proposing the project, working with Jarratt Architecture and Powell Engineering and Associates. ....
