The final scoreline might not reflect it but Galway Minor team manager Alan Glynn was a very happy man when he talked to the media following last Saturday’s hard fought victory over Leitrim in the Electric Ireland Connacht MFC.
“Very pleased. I suppose the last quarter would be the most pleasing aspect for us as a management. We were a man down with 17 minutes to go and we were three points up and it was looking fairly hairy,” said Glynn when asked about the match. ....

Galway are through to the Connacht minor football championship semi-finals after seeing off a brave effort from Leitrim this afternoon at the Connacht GAA Centre of Excellence.
It finished 2-17 to 0-12 in the Tribesmen’s favour with Cillian O Curraoin s late goal helping to wrap up the win and seal their date against Roscommon next Friday at the same venue (throw-in 7.30pm).
O Curraoin’s first goal on the eve of the first-half water break helped Galway to lead by 1-3 to 0-3 and they’d stretch it to four prior to the points of Gavin Reynolds and Conor Quinn halving Leitrim’s deficit in the run up to half-time. ....
