Australian serial killer, also known as the Claremont killer, Bradley Edwards will likely die in jail after being sentenced to two life terms with a minimum non-parole period of 40 years for the murders of Jane Rimmer and Ciara Glennon in the mid-1990s.
The courtroom inside the Supreme Court of Western Australia erupted in applause on Wednesday as Justice Stephen Hall handed down the longest non-parole period in the state’s history to a man who had struck fear into the hearts of all Western Australians for more than two decades.

An Australian man dubbed the Claremont killer has been sentenced to at least 40 years in jail for murdering two young women, bringing an end to one of the country s most notorious cold cases.
Jane Rimmer, Ciara Glennon and Sarah Spiers all went missing from a popular nightlife area in the Western Australia city of Perth in the 1990s. For nearly 25 years, their unsolved deaths continued to loom large in the minds of residents. ....

The man convicted of killing Irish lawyer Ciara Glennon in a case that has gripped Australia has been told he will likely die in prison.
Depraved Bradley Edwards was sentenced at the Australian Supreme Court today to life imprisonment with a non-parole period of 40 years.
The sentence was greeted with applause in the public gallery including family members of his victims, as Edwards, who showed no emotion as he was sent down, was led away.
Edwards was convicted in September of abducting and killing Jane Rimmer, 23, and Ms Glennon, 27, in 1996 and 1997. But was found not guilty of the 1996 murder of 18-year-old secretary Sarah Spiers. ....
