Bronson PD technology upgrades, lower rates for residents trash

Technology upgrades are coming to the Bronson Police Department. The Bronson City Council Monday approved the purchase of two new TASER energy weapons from Axon Enterprise. The department applied for and received a $1,200 grant from the city’s insurance carrier, Michigan Township Participating plan. Axon Enterprise provided a quote of $2,649.60 for two new TASER energy weapons.
The department will also get two new computers and a printer, as city council approved the $3,024 purchase. The computers will replace two purchased in 2013 and 2014. Although over the $2,500 budgeted for computers, the balance will come from the Police Salvage fund, according to city manager Brandon Mersman. ....
