Water spewing into the air at least 200 feet or so during the height of this water main break. It started about 7 00 oclock this evening according to the philadelphia Water Department. They have been on the scene ever since. Some four hours later now trying to find this break and contain this break. Now, we were able to speak with a spokesperson from the Water Department a short time ago. He says this fight despite this seen it is not affecting the water supply of any of the homes ound this area. Heres what he had to say to us just a few moments ago. Pretty much were getting shut off as quickly as we can. While in the process were able to maintain Water Service for other customers if case we have to begin turning other valves off to fine the proper location for this valve. That is why they had to start back working this morning. Take a look at some of the problems they had earlier. It is a challenge finding proper valves but we are working as quickly as we can to get this shut down. Now all we see is ice covering those branches and the ground around where that water main break happened. Again that spokesperson was talking about the problems they had before but they were working very quickly to get the problem fixed and they got back out the here on the scene and had gotten it fixed for a minute but as we take a look the the water is gushing again into the air. So a very fluid situation out here this morning, so, developing story, we will check back with the spokesperson and see what is developing and we will bring it to you as soon as we get it.
