Laid out before us, 500 years of inspiration, appropriation and exchange between the islamic world and the west. A near conversation between two cultures, whose artists were intrigued and influenced by each other. So, this room demonstrates the Cultural Exchange between the west and the east, or the west and the orient. Two dishes, which you would think are made at the same time, because theyre nearly identical. But this one, here, was actually made in the 19th century. This was made by a french ceramicist and his name was theodore deck. This one here was made in turkey, and this was actually made in the 16th century. So, you can see that theodore deck, here, nearly 300 years later, has done a very good job at imitating this. And the more modern ones. For more than two millennia, the temple of the parthenon has been towering over what has become the bustling capital city of greece. Nestled at the bottom of its slopes, the modern Acropolis Museum houses most of the artefacts found in the area. And this year, it celebrates its 10th anniversary. This museum replaced an older building that had become just too small to house the sheer number of antiquities found on the hill. Its ten times the size, its got a unique collection, and as you can see from the queues, its pretty popular. Almost 15 Million People have passed through the doors of the museum since it was opened a decade ago. And to mark the anniversary, a whole new section has just been opened to the public underneath the building. So, what are we looking at here . 37 people have been injured eight of them seriously after a bus crashed in devon. The double decker was travelling on the a385 between totnes and paignton when it came off the road and ended up on its side in a field. Richard lister has more. Just after am this morning, and the Emergency Services are responding to a major incident. 37 people were injured eight of them seriously when this double decker bus came off the road. Casualties were taken to hospitals across the region. Witnesses at the scene said up to 20 people were trapped in the wreckage and the fire and rescue service had to use specialist equipment to get them out. My friend was trapped on the bus for 45 minutes because. Thankfully, she wasnt injured but they had to cut holes in the roof of the bus to get people out. And, obviously, they couldnt move people who were badly injured. They were trying to get those people out first.
