Homeowner says he fired his gun in selfdefense. It happened in the East San Jose foothills. Police are still on the scene. Janine de la vega is joining us live on the scene. Good morning. Reporter good morning, brian. Crime scene technicians are here on the scene. Police here are investigating. They say this is where a man says someone tried to break into his home. He was just trying to defend himself and that is why he grabbed his gun. Just before 8 00 last night they received phone calls that shots were fired. When officers arrived they say a man told them an intruder tried to enter his home and fired shots in his direction. That resident said he got his gun and shot in the direction of the intruder to defend himself. Two suspects got into a vehicle and sped off. Police were unable to locate the suspect or their vehicle but soon after a man was dropped off at a nearby hospital with at least one got shot wound. He was pronounced d ....
