Goal: End unethical wildlife-killing competitions. Animals are slaughtered in disgusting competitions that incite the indiscriminate killing of wildlife. These contests concentrate on nature’s predators, specifically wolves, cougars, coyotes and raccoons. Contestants receive points for each type of animal they kill and they compete for a cash prize. “Wolf whacking” contests are detrimental to the ecosystem and they teach contempt for the animal themselves and their species as a whole. These beautiful animals are important as individuals and they play an essential role in the environment. Wildlife-killing contests do nothing to help the balance or protect nature as supporters claim. Research has shown that killing predators does not protect the ungulate population, including deer, elk and caribou. Instead of removing natural predators, efforts should be made to safeguard the natural habitats of these prey animals. ....
