More Charges Added in Murder Case Following Grand Jury Indictment

As previously reported, on Feb. 9, officers with the San Angelo Police Department were dispatched to the Cheyenne Crossing Apartments on W. 31st St. for the report of a shooting victim. SAN ANGELO A San Angelo woman has been arrested nearly a month after a northside shooting was labeled as self-defense, according to an arrest affidavit released Friday. About 2:30 p.m. Feb. 9, 2021, police responded to a homicide at the Cheyenne Crossing Apartments at 17 W. 31st St. Officers found Roy Perez Sr., 51, in the parking lot with a gunshot wound. He was transported to Shannon Medical Center but died from his injuries, records state. Nearly a month later on Thursday, March 5, police arrested Sydney Rashelle Kennon, 23, on suspicion of murder in Perez s death. She remained in Tom Green County Detention Center in lieu of a $300,000 bond as of 11:45 a.m. Friday, according to online jail records. ....
