In the first events - standard chess (individual and team) - Vietnam won a massive 30 gold medals, 14 silver medals and 19 bronze medals, with second-placed Philippines trailing far behind with just 5 gold medals and 12 silver medals! No fewer than 10 countries won medals, with Myanmar in third place, followed by New Zealand, hosts Thailand, India, Indonesia, China, Malaysia and Singapore. 21st ASEAN+ Age-Group Championships gets underway

After a three-year hiatus due to the pandemic, the long-running ASEAN Age Group Championships have resumed. The 21st ASEAN+ Age Group Championship is currently being held in Bangkok, Thailand from 17-26 June 2023 and has attracted 328 players from 15 countries.
