Actor and DMDK chief Vijayakanth, fondly known as Captain , passed away at the age of 71. He had a successful career in the Tamil film industry before entering politics and implementing revolutionary changes as a member of the Nadigar Sangam.
Amid an increase in Covid-19 cases in Kerala, the Greater Chennai Corporation is conducting 500 tests per day. The active cases in Chennai are mild, civic body chief J Radhakrishnan said.
With rising covid cases in Tamil Nadu, Madras High Court has made wearing masks & maintaining physical distance in the court premises compulsory from Apr 17. It also advised people to avoid entering the court campus if their cases are not listed.
