Place North West | Domis primed to start Anchorage Gateway in January

Dan Whelan The contractor will start the demolition of a vacant office building on the site in the new year, paving the way for the construction of developer Cole Waterhouse’s 28-storey Salford apartment block.  The main phase of construction of the 290-apartment development, next to Anchorage tram stop in Salford Quays, will begin in May and completion is scheduled for July 2023, according to a construction management statement prepared by Domis.  Architect Chapman Taylor designed the L-shaped development, which features 4,000 sq ft of commercial space as well as public realm.   There will be two landscaped terrace gardens for residents, on the mezzanine and at level 19. The rooftop penthouse apartments will have private terraces.

Place North West | Romac takes 91,000 sq ft at Stakehill

Neil Tague The specialist in chilled goods logistics has expanded into a new head office and distribution centre at a building owned by the COIF Charities Property Fund. Romac has rapidly expanded since being founded in Manchester in 2018, offering warehousing and national distribution for UK food and drink manufacturers and major retailers. The move, which consolidates two smaller locations and head office operations into a unit at Finlan Road on the industrial estate, adds an 80,000 sq ft temperature-controlled warehouse to the company’s portfolio, aling with 11,000 sq ft of office space.
