Public facilities in the Devonport-Takapuna Local area are becoming more accessible for people with disabilities.
Work on a new toilet and changing facility at Gould Reserve at Takapuna Beach is scheduled to get underway this winter, with one of the special features being a Changing Places Room space.
“This wonderful new world-class amenity will include toilets, showers and changing facilities as well as special chair hoist in the Changing Places Room space so people with severe disability and mobility challenges can wash and change more easily,” says Devonport-Takapuna Local Board chair Aidan Bennett.
The additional features have been enabled through the support of generous locals Jackie and Chris Reeve, who were the key funders and driving forces behind the fabulous destination playground nearby.  ....
