Montreal has one less municipal political party.
On Tuesday, Vrai Changement MontrÃ©al, the party started by one-time mayoral candidate MÃ©lanie Joly, announced it was ceasing operation.

âIâm personally very proud of the work we accomplished over the years,â interim leader Justine McIntyre, a former city councillor in Pierrefonds-Roxboro borough, announced in a Facebook post. The party, which was created in 2013, allowed open internal debates, she wrote.
As the Montreal Gazette reported earlier this week, Vrai Changement MontrÃ©al had set Monday as the deadline for candidates to step forward to lead the party into the municipal election on Nov. 7.
