What WVU Learned from the Pandemic Mineral Daily News-Tribune WVU Today MORGANTOWN - Under the quiet surface of near-stilled campuses over the past year, West Virginia University researchers, faculty and administrators have scrambled to learn more about COVID-19 and mitigate its spread, calculated how to teach online and hybrid classes and figured out how to better ensure people on those campuses could remain safe from the virulent disease that has killed more than 500,000 U. S. citizens to date. In keeping with its land-grant mission, WVU shared its findings with the state of West Virginia and has discovered paths for future endeavors so that ultimately, students on the Morgantown, Keyser and Beckley campuses will benefit from the pandemic’s lessons. ....
February 5, 2021 Finalists for the position of provost/senior vice president for academic affairs at the University of Wyoming have been identified, and they’re scheduled to give public presentations at UW beginning Tuesday, Feb. 9. The candidates are Anne Alexander, currently the interim provost and vice president for academic affairs at UW; Kevin Carman, professor of biology and former provost and executive vice president at the University of Nevada-Reno; John Griffin, senior associate provost and dean of undergraduate studies at Clemson University; and Corinne Lengsfeld, senior vice provost for research and graduate education at the University of Denver. Each candidate will be on campus for a full day of engagement, beginning Monday, Feb. 8, for the first candidate and ending Tuesday, Feb. 16, for the final candidate.
