Unlike just horizontal movement, began to feel a vertical lift in the bridge, especially in the center span. You know, there was no suspension bridge or anything like this anywhere and out to the world in the pacific northwest. There was an unfamiliarity with just how a big thing like this was supposed to behave. So people excited about it, there is a certain musical gracefulness about a bridge like this.
