add that to concerns over the virus caseload and you ve got this. the dow industrials, down 700 yesterday, down maybe another 200 this morning. the s&p down 80 yesterday, down another 20 today. the nasdaq yesterday, down 200 points. today, down about 13 points. a sea of red ink over there. a big loss especially for the dow. 1.48 million new jobless claims this past week. now, that s not a good number and it pushed stock prices just a little lower when that news was released at 8:30 eastern. now, today, president trump heads to wisconsin. good timing. the democrat governor there has just called out the national guard. a protester wielding a baseball bat and bullhorn harangued a restaurant crowd. he was arrested. molotov cocktails were thrown, the police needed help. governor evers sees the light and calls in the national guard. same thing in washington, d.c. hundreds of national guard troops now marshaling. they will protect the capital s monuments. thursday, june 25, ....
today, especially when you consider the number of women who may have been victims of this and not even known it and they re still out there, victims of 37-year-old kyle muehlhauser. he s going to jail now after sentencing today, but the lawsuits have just begun in this case because tomorrows are convinced there are many more victims out there. in court today muehlhauser admitted to video peeping at his restaurant the ram s head tavern. he was busted when a hidden camera fell to the floor right in front of one of the victims. she took the camera to police. today a plea bargain this netted him two partially suspended two year prison sentences. he ll do 90 days in the howard county jail and do all the time if he violates the conditions of his release, but here s what else prosecutor joanna miller revealed today. it happened over the course of three years and we were able to identify multiple bathrooms on the camera that was found by the victim. reporter: so with the po ....
welcome to cbs this morning. as daylight arrives on the west coast, much of the east coast is getting to see the full devastation of super storm sandy. the massive storm is blamed for at least 18 deaths at least 7.5 million utility customers have lost power in 16 states and washington, d.c. it is estimated that sandy has cause edd $10 to $20 billion in damage, making it one of the most expensive storms in america american history. financial markets are closed again because of the storm. here in new york city, the subway system could be closed for days because of historic flooding. our correspondents are on the ground across the east covering the impact of superstorm sandy. we begin our coverage in hard-hit new york city. president obama has just declared a state of emergency in new york and new jersey. jim axelrod is at battery park in manhattan, which was inundated with water. jim, good morning. reporter: good morning, charlie. high tide has come here. at leas ....
