Wisconsin Athletic Director Barry Alvarez is formally resigning on June 30, 2021, after 32 years at the university, per an official press release.
Alvarez has presided over Badger athletics for the last 18 years. In that span, Wisconsin has won a total of 16 national titles and 74 conference regular season or tournament titles.
“It has been an honor to be a part of Wisconsin Athletics and I take great pride in all we have accomplished over the last three decades,” Alvarez said via the release. “From championships, to improvements on campus, to impacting thousands of student-athletes, it’s been a great ride.
