The Hawk Eye At the corner of Sixth and Jefferson streets, the statue celebrating Nancy Neafie watches over historical downtown Burlington.  The bronze statue stands 7 feet tall, wearing an Oriental-style scholar s robe, its left hand holding a book as if saluting the knowledge contained on its pages  a fitting tribute to the scholar and teacher who served as Burlington s first and only female mayor.
