Community groups and local agencies have been encouraged to apply for money to realise their project by the local agency that has just been given €2.1 million to award in grant support in Laois.
Laois Partnership Company has welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Rural & Community Development Heather Humphreys TD, of an increased allocation of €70 million nationally for 2021 & 2022 under the LEADER Programme.
Peter O’Neill, Laois Partnership Company Chairman said the money can help local people who are best placed to apply. ....

A Laois agency that provides vital help to community groups and businesses extra Leader funds announced by the Government will be needed to help rural areas after the Covid-19 pandemic.
Laois Partnership Company, a member of the Irish Local Development Network (ILDN) who represent the 35 Local Development Companies (LDCs) that delivers the LEADER Programme nationally. They have welcomed the announcement by the Minister for Rural & Community Development Heather Humphreys TD, and Minister for Agriculture Food & Marine Charlie McConalogue TD, of an increased allocation of €70 million in 2021 & 2022 for the LEADER Programme. ....

A Laois agency that funds community initiatives and local enterprises is to get nearly €650,000 to cause ba delay in funding the LEADER Programme which is not now expected to recommence until 2023 due what the Government says are delays at EU level.
The Minister for Rural and Community Development, Heather Humphreys TD, today (Wednesday, December 16th) announced details of the Transitional LEADER Programme which will come into effect in April 2021. 
A statement said that in line with a commitment in the Programme for Government, the Transitional LEADER Programme will bridge a gap between the wind-up of the current 2014-2020 LEADER Programme and the start of the next EU programme, which is not likely to commence until 2023 due to delays at EU level. ....
